How an engagement works
The terms are set before any work starts, so there is nothing to renegotiate once it is underway.
- Fixed scope, in writing. What is being built, and what is not, agreed before the work begins.
- Fixed price. Quoted against that scope. It does not move because the work took longer than I judged.
- Two week delivery. From an agreed scope to working software in your hands.
- Correction at no cost until the work meets the acceptance criteria agreed at the start.
No retainer, no hourly billing, and no ongoing access to your systems after handoff. When it is delivered and accepted, the engagement is finished.
Week one
Scope confirmed in detail, then built. You get a working version you can open and use, not a status report.
Week two
You use it against the acceptance criteria and tell me where it is wrong. I correct it, then hand over the software and what you need to keep running it.
